Running: It's actually more expensive than therapy

Summertime... The time for fun and relaxation and of course the time many of us get away for a quick vacation or two. The only problem- you're in the middle of a training cycle and don't want to give up any progress made. Well luckily there are a few tips that can help you still train while on vacation. Just don't forget your shoes/workout clothing!
Get up early to run- Did I mention you might have to make some sacrifices? Well sleep might have to be one of them. Getting up early to run will not only ensure you have time for all your other activities, but you will also make sure to beat the heat that usually comes at you in the afternoon/daytime. Take advantage of the hotel fitness centers- Most hotels have fitness centers with treadmills and free weights at least. They are usually pretty quiet too as most vacationers seem to forget they exist. Feel free to take advantage of these centers since you're probably paying for them in the resort fee anyway! Explore your area- Don't feel like running indoors? Well there's probably a great park or beach outside that you can explore. Map it out the night before and you will have a great place to run in the morning. Take a rest- Rest days are important and used for this reason. Take advantage of this and enjoy your vacation. So what you miss a workout, in the end it will not kill you.
