Running: It's actually more expensive than therapy

I hate the title of this post. I hate it because I had been so lucky in the injury department I foolishly thought injuries would be something I could avoid. Lately, that is anything but true. I feel like my body is breaking down, and just when I start to feel better something else flares up. As you may know, I pulled my left hamstring after the Daytona Half Marathon mid February which was followed by some knee pain on my right leg. I took some time off from running and started to ease back into it gradually. I also had to defer the Tomoka Half and the 50k in May I had been training for.
My knee was healing nicely and I was eager to get back into a routine when out of nowhere yesterday I felt a sharp pain in my hamstring after mile 2 of another easy run. I'm guessing it just never healed fully the first time. Unlike my knee which only hurt when I ran, this pain is constant and sharper. I'm going to take at least another week off completely then examine this situation again. What's another week right? I'm really looking to get back into training in May for the fall season so I still have plenty of time and need to make sure my body is on board too. My next race isn't until June (which still may be deferred who know) then nothing till September. Hopefully this isn't anything serious and can be healed with just more time. I certainly appreciate running so much right now and cannot wait to get back out there again!
